The industrial accident reported [earlier today] involving a worker being run over by a grader has been updated.

The victim, Andrew Hatton, 19, of Calabogie Road, Laird Township, was knocked down by the moving grader when he approached the driver to ask a question.

The tire pinned Mr. Hatton.

When the grader was backed away it was discovered that the victim had suffered a pelvic injury and he was rushed to hospital by ambulance.

Mr. Hatton and the grader operator were the only ones at the work site at the time of the accident.

The Ministry of Labour is continuing the investigation

Worker Run Over By Grader

Shortly after 3 p.m. on the 12th of July, Sault Ste. Marie OPP Detachment received a report of a worker being run over by a grader at a construction site off Havilland Shores Road.

The worker was rushed to hospital in Sault Ste. Marie by ambulance and it is reported that he has suffered a broken pelvis.

The Ministry of Labour was notified and they are continuing the investigation.
