Echo Bay, Ont. - An Echo Bay resident is now back in possession of three "GT" Snow racers that were stolen from their home yesterday afternoon.

At about 2 p.m. yesterday afternoon the homeowner noticed three teenagers in a small pickup truck near the home. Shortly after that the homeowner realize that three 'GT' Racers that were in the yard were stolen and called the police.

An OPP officer patrolling in the area noticed fresh tire tracks of a smaller vehicle in the snow on an area side road. At one location it appeared that the vehicle stopped and there were footprints in the snow going over a snowbank and into a ravine. At the bottom of the ravine were the three stolen "GT" Racers. The three racers have been returned to the owners.

Tractor Damage

(Plummer Additional Twp., Ont.) - Sometime after 1 a.m. on Tuesday 25 Jan. a Plummer resident reported damage to a door on his tractor. The tractor had been parked in the yard and the window had been smashed.

East Algoma O.P.P. have some leads but are asking the Public to report any information about this to them at 1-888-310-1122 or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).



(White River, Ontario) – On the 22nd of January, White River OPP were on patrol on Highway 17 between White River and Wawa when they stopped a car for a Highway Traffic Act offence. When speaking to the driver, the officer noticed a strong odour of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The three occupants from Quebec were arrested and a search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of marijuana.

Charged with possession of controlled substance was 35-year-old Luc Gagnon of Rouyn Quebec with a court date of March 7 in Wawa court.
