HWY 17 AT MILE HILL CLOSED FOR TWO HOURS LAST NIGHT

Heyden, Ont., Yesterday’s winter blast caused just a little traffic chaos on the Mile Hill in Heyden, about twenty kms north of Sault Ste Marie last night.

At about 6:00 p.m. last night Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to Hwy 17 at the Mile Hill in Heyden after a report of three transports stuck on the hill. OPP closed that section of Hwy 17 for about two hours until highway maintenance crews and tow trucks were able to get the transports moving again.

Other than the problem on the Mile Hill last night, Sault Ste Marie OPP responded to only two vehicles in the ditch during yesterday’s storm.
