Overdue ATV Rider found Safe
66-Year-old John Gregoire of Whitman Dam Lake Road was reported missing early this morning after failing to return from an ATV ride, which began last evening at 9:00 p.m. Mr. Gregoire returned home shortly after the incident was reported. His machine broke down and he walked most of the night eventually being picked up early this morning by a logger. The police want to emphasize the importance of telling someone where you are going when traveling on an ATV or snowmobile so if something happens the police have a chance for a quick response in locating you. This is especially important in the winter months where hypothermia can be deadly in a matter of hours.
Tuesday RIDE Results
Sault Ste Marie Detachment Officers conducted RIDE in 5 different locations Tuesday. A total of 53 vehicles were checked, One Insurance charge was laid and 2 Highway Traffic Act warnings were issued.
