SIX WEATHER RELATED COLLISION’S –ONE INVOLVING A SCHOOL BUS

Heyden, Ont.,

Of the six weather related collisions Sault Ste Marie OPP investigated yesterday, one of the collision involved a school bus with children on board.

Yesterday afternoon at about 3:40 p.m. a school bus was southbound on Birchgrove Road, just off Trout Lake Road, in Heyden. A northbound pick up truck was going around a third vehicle that was stopped on the roadway. Both the bus and the pick up were traveling at very low speeds

The pick up truck slid sideways into the front of the bus. Damage to the pick up truck was under $1000.00 and there was no visible damage to the bus. The bus did have several children on board but no one was injured.

Birchgrove Road was slushy, snow covered and icy at the time of this collision. No charges were laid in this collision or any of the other collisions yesterday
