EMPTY CANOE CAUSES CONCERN
Yesterday at 5:00 p.m., a Goulais Bay resident found an empty canoe drifting near his camp. Wher he retrieved the canoe, he found fishing equipment and fish. Using binoculars, the resident could see two people out in the bay but couldn’t tell if they were actually in the water. O.P.P. were called and dispatched the Marine Unit.

The two youths were fishing from a raft when the canoe broke loose and was carried quite a distance by the wind. The two stayed on the raft until relatives picked them up. There were no injuries.
