Sad Day For A Joy Rider

(Shedden Twp., Ontario (Spanish)) A student working for the municipality of Shedden Twp decided that he would take a ride in a public works truck for a Joy Ride and did not make it back to the yard.
A high school student on co-op placement was left alone at the Municipal garage and while other workers were out doing other duties the student decided to take the truck for a ride on Brennan Harbour Road.
Evidence indicated that the truck had been driven in an erratic manner, based on the skid, acceleration and yaw marks on the roadway. Approximately 1.5 kms from its destination the truck and driver failed to negotiate a turn, lost control and rolled the truck onto its side.
The driver escaped without injury and reported the incident to his supervisors.

Charged is 18-year-old Michael GRESKOW of 12 Algoma St. Spanish, Ontario.

GRESKOW is to appear in court in Blind River 0n 06 July 2006 on the following charges:
Theft Over $5000, Possession of Stolen Property, Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle and Driving While Disqualified.

Agree To Disagree

Sault Ste Marie OPP responded to several domestics and neighbour disputes yesterday.

In all of these cases there were no grounds to arrest anyone or lay charges against the feuding parties. Mediation between the involved parties appears to have resulted in no further need to involve the police in these disagreements.
