HEYDEN YOUTH INJURED IN CAR- BIKE COLLISON
Heyden, Ont.

A fourteen year old Heyden youth was taken to Sault and Area Hospitals by ambulance yesterday after he was injured in a collision on Hwy 17.

At about 3:30 p.m. the youth was with several of his friends at the intersection of Hwy 17 and Hwy 556. The investigation so far has indicated that the youth may have rode his bike across Hwy 17 without looking both ways. There is some evidence that the youth may have accidentally rode his bike into the side of a car traveling on Hwy 17

He was taken to Sault and Area Hospitals were he was treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries. The investigation is still ongoing and the name of the youth is not being released. Sault Ste Marie OPP are going to consult the Provincial Prosecutor's office to see if charges are warranted against the youth.
