39-year-old charged with drug trafficking in Wawa

Police have charged Angie Neshawabin with trafficking after officers responded to a suspicious person call in Wawa on March 8, states a news release issued by the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Full text of the OPP release follows:

WAWA - On March 8, 2022 at approximately 12:08 p.m., members of the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a suspicious person call on Broadway Avenue in Wawa.

Police located the individual and, as a result of the investigation, Angie Neshawabin, 39 years of age of Brunswick House First Nation, was arrested and charged with the following:
    •    Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 4, 2022 in Wawa.
