GOULAIS RIVER MAN FACES STALKING CHARGES

Goulais River, Ont.,

Sault Ste Marie OPP have charged a Goulais River man with several charges after a woman reported a series of events at her home.

On Sunday 16 Sept 2006 at about 7:30 a.m. the woman looked out her window to see the man from the same neighbourhood standing on her property near her home. The woman and another male gave chase to the man and he fled the area.

The woman called police and advised of an extended history of the same man being found on or near her home acting suspicious on several other occasions. She advised police that she had told the accused, in the past, not to come near her or on her property.

The accused was arrested last night and will be appearing in bail court this morning. Forty three year old Denis BRETON, of Bellevue Valley Road in Goulais River, faces charges of Unlawfully Watching and Besetting a Dwelling house and Prowl by Night Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He has also been charged with Trespassing Contrary to the Trespass to Property Act of Ontario.
