Bambi's Buddies Took A Beating

Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to four separate animal collisions over the long weekend.

From Saturday morning to Monday evening one moose and three deer were struck by vehicles in our detachment area. The collisions happened on Hwy 17, north of Pancake Bay, Hwy 552 East and two collisions on Hwy 17 east. There were no reports of injuries in any of the crashes and no one needed the services of a tow truck to remove the vehicles.

Noise & Disagreements

The Sault Ste Marie Detachment of the OPP had a busy weekend responding to a variety of complaints consistent with a weekend.

Officers responded to a variety of family disputes, court order child custody disagreements and noise complaints. A proportional number of traffic complaints were called into the OPP Communication Center from area highways. Fortunately, no one had to be arrested for these potential violations
