LOT’S OF GUN SHOTS

Goulais River, Ont.,

Yesterday morning Sault Ste Marie OPP responded to a call of someone hearing at least 20 shots in the vicinity of their home.

Officers responded to the 1200 area of Pineshores Road in Goulais River. Their investigation determined that a resident in that area was target practicing with a rifle.
The investigation determined that there were no violations of any laws but the resident did cease the target practice.


NOT THE BEST PLACE TO HAVE A SNOOZE

Harmony Beach, Ont.,

Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to Hwy 17 in the Harmony Beach area after a report of someone lying on the side of the roadway.

It turned out that a hitchhiker was trying to get a ride but was unsuccessful. After a long day in the sun he got tired and just curled up on the shoulder of the road and had a nap. He was offered some helpful educational tips dealing with the results of impacts with the human body and vehicles. He decided that the shoulder of the Trans Canada highway was not the best place to curl up for a nap
