A Michigan man was taken to Sault and Area Hospital yesterday afternoon after a crash on his snow machine.

The investigation is indicating that the man was traveling with a group of snow machines when he went off the trail and into a hole. He was thrown over top of the machine and suffered a leg injury. He was transport to Sault and Area Hospital by ambulance where he was treated for what is suspected to be a broken leg.

The driver of the machine is identified as 19 year old Adam Jeffery GRACE of West Bloomfield, Michigan. No charges have been laid in this investigation.

R.I.D.E. Program Results In Charges

Sault Ste Marie, Ont.,

A R.I.D.E. check has resulted in charges against a twenty two year old Laird Twp man last night.

At about 1:00 a.m. this morning officers with the Sault Ste Marie OPP detachment were conducting a R.I.D.E. check at the east city limits. A man approached the spot check and officers could detect an odour of alcohol from the pick up truck.

The truck was pulled over and the driver had an open beer between his feet. Investigation revealed that the man has an existing criminal court order to abstain from alcohol.

Twenty two year old Roddy RYDALL of Neebish Road in Laird Twp has been charged with Breach of a Recognizance. He was also given tickets for having open liquor in a vehicle and being unable to produce his drivers licence. He will appear in court in April.

Heyden Garage Fire

The Aweres Twp Fire Department and the Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to a garage fire in Heyden yesterday.

At about 3:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon both agencies were advised of a fire at a storage garage in the Shetland Trailer Park in Heyden. The fire was extinguished and damage was limited to a storage section at the side of the garage.

Examination of the scene by fire and police indicates that the cause of the fire is consistent with an electrical problem. No dollar estimate was given for damage to the structure.
