BOOZE FUELED DISPUTE LEADS TO BLOWS
Batchawana, Ont.,

A property dispute, some alcohol and the assistance of "friends" lead to punches being exchanged yesterday.

At about 7:00 p.m. last night, Sault Ste. Marie OPP were called to a home in the Batchawana area after two men reported being punched by each other.

An afternoon of drinking had resulted in several uncomplimentary remarks being made amongst a group of Batchawana residents. An argument ensued between a man and a woman that resulted in the woman advising that she no longer wished to live with the man. The man had enough and walked home to their house.

Three friends of the woman arrived at the man's house a short time later and were seeking some property. Another verbal disagreement started and it soon ended with two men exchanging one blow to each other's forehead.

No one required medical treatment and when it was all over and investigated, police decided not to lay any criminal charges.
