Sault Ste Marie OPP are reminding all snow machine operators that your season is now day by day.

The trail system in this area remains open but the start of the warmer weather is starting to take it's toll on the trails and the machines. OPP investigated one accident to a snow machine that can be attributed to the start of the spring weather.

Yesterday Sault Ste Marie OPP investigated a snow machine incident where an operator was traveling on a trail north of Searchmont The machine he was riding suffered considerable damage after hitting a large hole that was not in the trail on the previous trip. The driver was not hurt in this incident.

With warmer temperatures during the day time hours you should and can expect fast and drastic changes to the trails and lakes that you ride on. What was a smooth trail or a solid frozen lake yesterday may now be a stream or open lake. From now on, all operators should expect the unexpect
