Echo Bay, Ont., An Echo Bay man will appear in Bail Court this morning after he was caught driving while under several court orders not to be behind the wheel.

Yesterday at about 1:30 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle on Government Road in Echo Bay. Investigation has determined that the driver is under a suspension for Impaired Driving. He is on a conditional release pending another Impaired Driving charge and one of the conditions was that he not occupy the drivers seat of any vehicle.

Thirty five year old Richard AELICK, of Echo Bay now faces additional charges of Driving Under Suspension, Breach of an Undertaking and Breach of Probation. His vehicle has been impounded for the mandatory 45 days.

Echo Bay Collision Results in No Insurance Charge

Echo Bay, Ont., A collision yesterday morning on Findlay Road in Echo Bay may be a little costly for an Echo Bay man.

At about 8:00 a.m. yesterday morning a vehicle was parked on the side of the roadway on Findlay Road. The driver pulled away from the side of the roadway and struck another vehicle traveling in the same direction. No one was injured in the collision.

As a result of this investigation, fifty one year old Gordon NOTT of Echo Bay was charged with failing to signal. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle he was driving was not insured. He was charged with having no insurance. If convicted of having no insurance he could face a MINUMUM fine of $5000.00.
