Collision Sends Two To Hospital (Hilton Beach, Ontario) On July 11, 2005 shortly after 5:00 pm the East Algoma – Thessalon OPP were advised of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 548 south of Hilton Beach, Ontario.
Collision Sends Two To Hospital

(Hilton Beach, Ontario) On July 11, 2005 shortly after 5:00 pm the East Algoma – Thessalon OPP were advised of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 548 south of Hilton Beach, Ontario.

The driver while traveling southbound on Highway 548, swerved to miss an animal on the Highway, lost control, and rolled into the west side ditch.

The driver, Patricia PRATT (63) and the passenger Ashley MINARDI (14) both of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario were transported to Matthews Memorial Hospital in Richards Landing, Ontario by ambulance. MINARDI was treated for minor cuts and bruises and released. PRATT was transferred to Sault Area Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and remains in hospital. PRATT suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The motor vehicle, a Ford Windstar received extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene.

Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts.
