Young Man Suffers Fatal Injuries In Tobogganing Accident

(Huntsville, Ontario) Huntsville O.P.P. is investigating the death of a young man, Richard Doherty, 19 years of age, from Orangeville. Richard was visiting friends in Huntsville when the group decided to go tobogganing at Hidden Valley Ski Hill. At 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2005, Richard and a friend decided to go for one last trip down the hill. They boarded an inflatable life raft and headed down the hill. They lost control and collided with bushes on the side of the hill. Doherty sustained injuries to his head. Richard Doherty was transported to the hospital in Huntsville where he succumbed to his injuries.

A post mortem was conducted today at Huntsville Hospital. The cause of death was determined to be as a result of a fractured skull.
