(Elliot Lake, Ont.) – On Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged one of its officers with one count of Threatening Bodily Harm contrary to sec. 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
(Elliot Lake, Ont.) – On Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged one of its officers with one count of Threatening Bodily Harm contrary to sec. 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The charge stems from an incident in September 2004 in which a member of the public complained they were threatened with bodily harm while being investigated by an on duty officer in the municipality of Elliot Lake. The complaint was investigated by the OPP, Professional Standards Bureau, Northeast Investigation Section. Charged by members of the OPP Professional Standards Bureau is Provincial Constable P. A. (Phil) NOWISKI of the Elliot Lake OPP detachment. He is scheduled to appear at the Elliot Lake Provincial Court March 8, 2005. He has been assigned to administrative duties pending the outcome of the case.
