Theft

A MacDonald Township resident reports that over the past couple of weeks some larcenous individual(s) has taken it upon themselves to assist in the clean out of his shed. It seems not to matter that the owner was not interested in cleaning out anything. The thief so far has made off with an old ‘BB’ gun, a pair of welding gloves and some chain. Other items usually associated with the cravings of thieves have been left untouched. Newly installed locks will hopefully prevent future incidents. The investigation is continuing.

Theft of BBQ

It wasn’t new but it had served its owner well over the past few years. A mainstay of cottage life and summer cuisine has gone missing from a Goulais River area cottage. The owner last saw the gas barbeque on the 1st of August. In the in between time a dishonest would-be chef absconded with it, to create a little culinary magic himself, no doubt.

Assault

A camping trip ended on a sour note for a young couple last night. An argument led to a physical confrontation. Staff at Pancake Bay Provincial Park witnessed this. Police were called and a 17year old female was arrested and charged with assault. The 20-year-old male victim did not require medical attention.

Improper Driving

Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. officers investigated four complaints yesterday of improper driving. Despite numerous warnings, charges and safety messages from this desk, some drivers just fail to pay attention. In our own private world we may be able to operate our motor vehicles as we see fit. In the real world this is an act destined for grief. Friends, relatives and people who would like to meet you are counting on you arriving safely at your destination. Drive responsibly and don’t disappoint them.
