Mischief

Two incidents of mischief were reported over the weekend. On the 29th of July a resident of Highway 552 east reported that their rural mailbox had been vandalized. There is no indication that the mailbox did anything to provoke the attack so it would seem that the perpetrators allowed common sense to go into hiding for a brief period of time.

A gentleman attending a party in Aweres Township, on the 31st of July was dismayed to discover that during the course of the festivities someone had thrown a rock through the window of his mini-van. Not everyone at the party was in a jovial mood nor was the owner of the van after his discovery.

Assault

Failing to Keep a Lookout While Towing a Person

Our marine patrol paid a visit to Cloudy Lake over the weekend. Some complaints had been received regarding the disregard some boaters, in the area, had for the boating regulations. At least one boater has learned a valuable lesson, the hard way.

The rules regarding the towing of water-skiers, and the like, states that there must be a
second person to keep watch over the person being towed while the operator drives the boat. The safety of person been towed is paramount. Ignoring this legal safety precaution will land you in hot water. A charge of Failing to Keep a Lookout While Towing a Person contrary to the Small Vessel Regulations of the Canada Shipping Act has been laid.
