SIDE SWIPE ACCIDENT ON MILE HILL
When preparing to pass, it is always advisable to look in your mirrors and check over your shoulder before making your move. Unfortunately for a gentleman from Texas, all these steps were not followed.

Three vehicles were northbound on Highway 17 on the Mile Hill when the third vehicle in line pulled out to pass the two in front. As this vehicle came alongside the second vehicle, its driver also attempted to pass the one leading the three.

All the available space was taken by the first vehicle to initiate the passing. The resulting side swipe caused minor damage to both vehicles. There were no injuries.

John Boyd Reed of Fort Worth Texas was charged with attempting to pass while the roadway was not clear.
