HWY 17 NORTH RE-OPENED Goulais River, Ont., Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. has re- opened Hwy 17 north of Sault Ste. Marie through to Wawa. The Ministry of Transportation requested that the highway be closed at about 2:00 a.m. this morning.

HWY 17 NORTH RE-OPENED

Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. has re- opened Hwy 17 north of Sault Ste. Marie through to Wawa. The Ministry of Transportation requested that the highway be closed at about 2:00 a.m. this morning. Freezing rain, snow and icy road conditions forced the closure of that stretch of the Trans Canada highway.

At about 6:00 a.m. this morning, the highway was re-opened to traffic. With a mix of all weather conditions predicted over the next few days, all motorist are advised to monitor highway conditions through the Ministry of Transportation Highway Information Line at 945-5924 or toll free at 1-800-340-2454
