Traffic stop results in impaired charge for Sault man

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on October 15

On Sept. 17, 2018 at approximately 1:30 a.m., members of the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police Detachment conducted a traffic stop on Great Northern Road, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.

As a result of further investigation, Liam Dinsmore, 19 years old of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. was charged with the following:

  • Care or control of a motor vehicle while impaired (drug) contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Possession of a schedule II substance - cannabis marijuana - under 30 grams contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA).

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Oct. 15, 2018 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
