OPP in Sault Ste Marie are investigating a break and enter into a seasonal home on Calm Bay Road in Batchawana.

The owner of the camp arrived at the home late yesterday afternoon to find his house had been entered. At this time the owner could not find anything missing from the camp.

VERBAL DISCUSSION LEADS TO ASSAULT

Tuesday, October 3, 2006 police attended a local elementary school in Elliot Lake regarding a possible assault complaint.

On scene police learned that a 14-year-old male had allegedly assaulted another male. Investigation revealed that at approximately 8:40 a.m. while waiting for school to start the suspect and the victim engaged in a verbal discussion which resulted in the accused assaulting the victim.

Charged with Assault is a 14-year-old male youth. The youth is scheduled to appear in court on December 05, 2006. The name of the youth cannot be released under the jurisdiction of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Investigation completed.

Home of Paris Drive Victim of Break and Enter

Elliot Lake, Ont.

Police are investigating another residential break and enter. On October 3rd, 2006 the residents of a home on Paris Drive in Elliot Lake left the residence at approximately 8:30 a.m. returning at 3:00 p.m. Sometime during the time the owners were away, unknown person(s) entered the residence via a window and an undisclosed amount of money and jewelry was taken.

Investigation continuing.

Howe owners are reminded to ensure all windows on all floors and doors are locked when leaving their home unattended.

Police are also asking the assistance of the public in reporting any suspicious activities in your neighborhood.

STREET CHECK RESULTS IN ARREST


Elliot Lake, Ont.

On October 4, 2006 while on general patrol of the downtown area of the city of Elliot Lake, an officer observed a male party wandering around. The officer stopped the individual on Manitoba Road and the male identified himself to police. Through investigation it was learned that the individual had two existing warrants of arrest.

The officer arrested the male identified as Christian FORBES (34) of no fixed address. FORBES was held in custody awaiting a Bail Hearing.
