MATHESON OPP INVESTIGATE FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION

(MATHESON) – South Porcupine OPP – Matheson Detachment officers are currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision on Hwy 11 in Benoit Twp, which occurred on October 19th, 2005, at approximately 10:20 a.m., 2 kms south of Butler Lake.

DANIEL RYAN, 27, of Englehart, Ontario was pronounced dead at the Kirkland Lake Hospital.
His next of kin have been notified by the Englehart OPP.
Members of the local VCARS (Victim Crisis Assistance and Referral Service) program were on site to assist with counseling issues arising from the collision. The collision caused that portion of the Hwy 11 to be closed for approximately 6 hours. The cause of the collision between the 1996 Chevrolet pickup driven by RYAN and a 2005 5-ton Freightliner is still under investigation by Technical Traffic Collision Investigators with the OPP.
