Boating Season 2006

(Blind River, Ont.) Most if not all the lakes and rivers in the region are now open. This would prompt boaters to take to the water earlier than most years.
People are urged to remember that although the weather has been warmer than normal that the water temperatures are still unforgiving. Boaters are urged to use and wear what should be the number one boating safety item—their life jacket or personal floatation device.
East Algoma O.P.P. will be operating their vessels again this year beginning the long weekend in May. (20- 22 May 2006)

Ground Search For Missing Sault Man Continues

Duncan Twp, Ont.,

The search for thirty one year old Stacey Dilenardi continues today in Duncan Twp, northeast of Sault Ste Marie.

On December 1, 2005 Mr. Dilenardi’s car was found disabled about seven kms in on Connor Road in Duncan Twp. He had been reported missing to the Sault Ste Marie City Police on November 28 2005. A search for the Sault Ste Marie man was started last December but was called off due to poor weather.

Fifty five searchers from the Sault Ste Marie City Police, Sault Search and Rescue and the OPP Emergency Response Team spent yesterday scouring the bush in the area where his vehicle was located. An OPP helicopter spent the day in the area looking for any signs of Mr. Dilenardi. So far searchers have found no evidence of Mr. Dilenardi’s whereabouts.
