WHAT WERE YOU THINKING???
Heyden, Ont.,

Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. and the Sault Ste. Marie City police were looking for a reckless driver last night.

At about 9:00 p.m. the police services received numerous calls about a 1989 Blue Dodge pick-up truck driving in a dangerous manner. The calls started to come in on Hwy 556 in the Heyden area. Callers reported that the truck was purposely driving far in excess of the speed limit and was also purposely driving in both lanes.

As the truck neared the city it was reported to be passing other vehicles on the right unpaved shoulder of Hwy 17. While entering the city area the driver would purposely drive over garbage bags that were left on the side of the road for early morning pick up. While southbound on Great Northern Road near the intersection of Fifth Line, the driver once again passed other motorists on the gravel shoulder.

The blue pick-up truck was eventually located in a driveway in the 400 block of Northern Avenue in Sault Ste Marie. No charges were laid last night but the investigation is still ongoing.

If you see any activity that should be reported to the police you can call the OPP any where cell phones work by dialing *OPP, 911 in most areas or the toll free number of 1-888-310-1122.
