INJURED DRIVER IN THIS MORNING'S ACCIDENT IDENTIFIED

Sault Ste Marie OPP have determined the cause of this morning's accident that saw one person sent to Sault and Area Hospital with minor injuries.

OPP believe that the vehicle was northbound on Hwy 17 crossing the Chippewa River Bridge. The bridge had some ice on the roadbed and the vehicle's driver lost control. The vehicle slid sideways and across the southbound lanes. It struck the ditch, became airborne and landed upside down on the roadway. The vehicle slid a short distance down the road on its roof until it came to rest partially on the highway.

The driver and lone occupant, 61 year old Sylvio Quenneville,of Sault Ste Marie, was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital

The investigation still remains under investigation and no decision on any charges has been made at this time
