R.I.D.E. Not Just For Festive Season

On Wednesday Sault Ste Marie Detachment officers conducted R.I.D.E. checks in three different locations. Five hundred and three vehicles were checked without any violations being observed. The R.I.D.E. program is not something the OPP are going to do just during the Festive Season. The OPP are committed to reducing the number of drinking driving related deaths in the province. We will be using R.I.D.E. as one tool combined with public education and random checks to prevent people from getting behind the wheel while they have been drinking. While most people have got the message, a number of others continue to risk theirs and others lives by drinking and driving. These are the people all police services hope to apprehend.
