CAR-TRUCK ACCIDENT CLAIMS LIFE
Early this morning at 12:45, a Grand Am collided with a tractor-trailer 20 km south of White River on Highway 17. The Pontiac was travelling northbound when it unexplainably crossed the centre line into the northbound lane.

A southbound tractor-trailer was unable to avoid the car and a collision occurred. The truck came to rest in the ditch where it caught fire.

The driver of the Trans Am was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries and was taken to Lady Dunn Hospital in Wawa. The names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The highway was closed until 10:00 a.m. but both lanes are now open. The accident is still under investigation.
