Counterfeit $5.00 Surfaces in Blind River

(Blind River, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP is investigating a complaint of a possible counterfeit $5.00.

Investigation revealed that the note was located in money obtained during a recent event. The $5.00 bill bearing serial # HOG7601210 was checked and is indeed counterfeit.

Investigation continuing.

Break and Enter and Theft

(Blind River, Ont.) OPP are investigating a break and enter of residence on Schurm Ave in Blind River. The residence was last checked on August 7, 2005 and upon the return of the owners on August 17th, 2005 it was noted that the residence had been broken into.

Items reported stolen are liquor, TV, VCR, a cordless telephone and jewelry.

While investigating the break and enter, police were approached by other residents in regards to items missing from their vehicles. A Jack-all Jack and a New Paint Ball gun were taken from vehicles parked in driveways on the same street as the break and enter.
