Vehicle Arson Yields Charges (Blind River, Ont.) In July 2004 east Algoma O.P.P. investigated a vehicle in the ditch that had appeared to had been in a collision and burnt.
Vehicle Arson Yields Charges

(Blind River, Ont.) In July 2004 east Algoma O.P.P. investigated a vehicle in the ditch that had appeared to had been in a collision and burnt. The owner of the truck had reported it stolen and led Police to believe that it had been burnt in the collision.

As a result of extensive investigation East Algoma O.P.P. learned that the truck had not been stolen and was set ablaze to cover up the lie.

Several persons had been in the vehicle when it was in the collision but other became involved when the truck was torched.

Conspiracy to Commit and Indictable offence
Public Mischief
Arson for Fraudulent Purpose

Derek S. MACLEOD of Leacock St in Blind River
Chad L. SCHELLEKENS of Mountain Glen Rd. Blind River and
Paul A. TREMBLAY of Hwy 557 in Blind River, Ont.

All are scheduled to appear in Court in Blind River on May 05, 2005.

Threatening Charges for Local Man

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) Police have charged a local male with threatening in regards to a report received on March 28th, 2005.

Investigation revealed that the victim was in her vehicle when the suspect approached the vehicle yelling while punching his fist into the palm of his other hand. The victim remained in the car until the culprit left the area.

Charged with Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm is Jason McKie (28) of Elliot Lake. McKie is scheduled to appear in court May 3rd, 2005.

Youth Charged with Threatening

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The OPP investigated and have charged a local you with threatening after receiving a complaint from a local high school. The alleged incident occurred on March 23rd, 2005.

The suspect allegedly refused to follow class rules and when asked threatened a teacher.

Charged with Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm is a 16 year old male. The name of the youth cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
