STOLEN SKIDDER CHAINS
Searchmont, Ont.,

Sault Ste. Marie OPP is trying to locate some stolen skidder chains and the two thieves that took them.

Yesterday morning, officers were called to a logging operation just off of Hwy 556 in the Searchmont area. The owner of the skidder arrived for his day of work only to find that thieves had taken equipment necessary for him to do his job.

The thieves came to this job site and removed a set of new skidder chains from the skidder. They had to have a four wheel drive vehicle to get into the site and the knowledge to start a skidder. The chains are worth about $1,500.00.

A hard-working, enterprising member of our community has lost at least a full days work because of this theft and is now short the money he paid for these chains.

Help the police, the business community and yourself to keep your neigbourhood free of crime. If you know who took these chains or you know who is responsible for any other crime, call the Sault Ste Marie OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or call Crime Stoppers at 942-7867.

Together we can make our neighbourhoods the safest place to live, learn, work and play.
