(Cutler, Ont.) Shortly after 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday 14 Apr. 04 Police were advised of a person, who attended the St. Joseph Health Centre in Blind River, that was suffering from a knife wound.

Police investigation thus far reveals that a party that was taking place in Cutler got out of hand when an argument started among several females in a house.

Two persons in particular got into a very heated fight and one of them is alleged to have pulled a knife and inflicted a wound to the other combatant.

The victim was driven to Blind River for medical treatment. He injuries included several stitches to her chin from what appeared to be a laceration caused by a knife.

The suspect had fled the area and was arrested later that morning.

Charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault with a weapon, and Uttering Threats to Cause Death is 21-year-old Candace LEWIS of 75 Village Road in Serpent River First Nations Territory.
Lewis will appear in Bail Court in Sault Ste. Marie, today, Thursday 15 Apr.04 at 10:00 a.m.
