(GOGAMA) – South Porcupine OPP – Gogama Detachment officers are currently investigating a tragic incident involving the deaths of 3 American tourists. The 3 men were the guests of a Gogama area outfitter and were staying at a remote water access cabin on Nursey Lake in Nursey Twp. All 3 men failed to attend a predetermined location to be picked up. The outfitter attended the cabin on Nursey Lake and located the bodies of the 3 deceased persons on Saturday morning. The deceased persons have been positively identified as: Michael COMMON, 66, of Salem, Ohio, his brother Richard COMMON, 61, of Alliance, Ohio, and James COMMON, 24, of Tampa, Florida (son of Richard COMMON). Next of kin notifications have been made. Members of the OPP’s South Porcupine Crime Unit as well as OPP Forensic Identifications Unit were called in to assist with the investigation. Dr. Lim of the Timmins and District Hospital pronounced all 3 of the men dead at the scene. Post mortems have been ordered to determine the causes of death. An inspector from the Technical Standards and Safety Authority was also on site to inspect propane appliances at the cabin. The OPP’s investigation into this tragic event is continuing.
