SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT LEADS TO CHARGES
A single-vehicle collision early Saturday morning has resulted in impaired driving charges against a Bruce Mines man.

Just after midnight yesterday, Sault O.P.P. received a report of a car in the ditch on Hwy 638 north of Echo Bay. As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged the driver, Fredrick Long of Bruce Mines, age 42, with impaired driving and failing to provide a breath sample. He will appear in court in October. No one was injured in the collision.


ARGUMENT ENDS IN ASSAULT CHARGES
An argument between a man and a young woman landed the man in jail overnight and liquor charges against the woman.

Batchewana First Nation Police and Sault O.P.P. arrived at the house on the territory after receiving a complaint that drinking glasses were thrown at the woman and that she was physically attacked.

Allen Waboose, age 22, of Gran Street, Batchewana First Nation is charged with assault, breach of probation and beach of an undertaking.
