Sault Ste Marie OPP are looking for a group of youths responsible for smashing a window of a passing passenger train on Friday afternoon

On Friday at about 5:30 p.m. a train was southbound in Heyden returning to Sault Ste Marie. Witnesses on the train saw the group of youths throwing stones at the train. As a result of the actions of these youngsters, one of the windows on the train was smashed. No one on the train was injured.

OPP officers investigated but were unable to locate anyone in the area.


SPOUSAL ABUSE ENDS UP IN BAIL COURT
Searchmont, Ont

A Thessalon man will appear in bail court on Monday morning after a frightening evening for his ex spouse, a female acquaintance and six children.

On Friday the man arrived at the Searchmont residence were the two woman and six young children were staying. Late into the evening and early morning hours a verbal disagreement turned to violence. The ex spouse was assaulted and the suspect left the house. When he was refused entry back into the home he smashed a window and forced his way into the home.

The woman and children fled the home and called police. The 31 year old suspect is facing charges of assault, threatening and breach of probation.


CHARGES IN UNDER AGE DRINKING PARTY
Goulais River, Ont.,

A party on a beach in Goulais River has resulted in charges against a 17-year-old Goulais River teenager.

On Saturday night residents in the area of Young’s Road reported a party on a beach. Several reports of broken beer bottles, excessive noise and fights were reported to the OPP.

As a result of the report, OPP charged a 17-year-old Goulais River youth with Impaired Driving and having open liquor in his vehicle.
