Highway 17, approximately three kilometres west of Massey is still closed due to a serious injury motor vehicle collision that occurred just after one o’clock this morning.

The accident, between a transport truck and a van has sent the driver of the van to Sudbury hospital with serious injuries.

The transport, which was carrying liquid lime, spilled part of its cargo. Cleanup operations are now underway.

Police hope to have the debris cleared and the highway re-opened around 9:00 this morning.

Westbound light traffic is being rerouted through River Road back to the highway.
