STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED Yesterday at 3:05 p.m., O.P.P. stopped a Plymouth Voyageur van on Highway 17 in Tarbutt Township regarding a stop sign violation. As the officer was speaking to the driver he noticed that the ignition had been damaged.
STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED
Yesterday at 3:05 p.m., O.P.P. stopped a Plymouth Voyageur van on Highway 17 in Tarbutt Township regarding a stop sign violation. As the officer was speaking to the driver he noticed that the ignition had been damaged.

A further check revealed that the van had been stolen from Spanish, Ontario. The driver and passenger were arrested for possession of stolen property and transported to the Sault.

Charged are 18-year-old Tommy Wabegijig of Elliot Lake and 19-year-old Michael Athanasiou of Serpent River.


DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED
Yesterday at 2:30 p.m., an officer stopped a Ford Mustang on Hwy #556 in Aweres Twp for a Highway Act violation. The driver exhibited signs of alcohol consumption so was given a roadside test. He was then transported to the Sault for a breath test.

Nathan Misener, age 46 of Heyden, was subsequently charged with driving over .08, driving while disqualified and breach of probation. He will appear in bail court tomorrow.


ATV ACCIDENT
Yesterday at 3:00 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Hwy #552E in Fenwick Twp regarding an ATV accident. The driver and a passenger had been travelling on the shoulder of the highway at approximately 60 km/hr when the driver lost control and rolled into the ditch.

The driver was transported to the Sault Area Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No charges were laid.
