Winter Road Patrol (Kashechewan, ON) An agreement, between the Mushkegowuk Council Grand Chief Grand Chief, the Ontario Provincial Police and Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service (NAPS), has been reached on the Winter Road patrol issue.

(Kashechewan, ON) An agreement, between the Mushkegowuk Council Grand Chief Grand Chief, the Ontario Provincial Police and Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service (NAPS), has been reached on the Winter Road patrol issue.

NAPS has agreed to patrol the entire James Bay Coastal Winter Road as of February 2, 2005.

Confirmation that the Winter Road blockade at Kashechewan First Nation Territory (km 161) was removed came late yesterday afternoon (January 27, 2005).

The OPP will be available to assist Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service as outlined in the established mutual aid protocol signed in 1994.

Questions on police patrol of the James Bay Coastal Winter Road should be directed to Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service.
