A third person has died as a result of a two-vehicle head-on collision near Espanola on Friday evening.

Jocelyne Stevens of Richards Landing was a passenger in a Chrysler Neon that collided with a 1997 Ford Taurus at 10 p.m. on Friday. The occupants of the Taurus, 40-year-old Donald Armstrong of Val Caron and his cousin, 38-year-old Rolly Armstrong of Levack died immediately. Jocelyne was taken to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The collision occurred on Highway 17, approximately 6 kms east of Highway 6, Baldwin Township near Jackelin Road.

The Sault detachment of the O.P.P. is having a relatively quiet weekend in spite of the poor driving conditions.

Highway 17 north of Sault Ste. Marie is open once again. The highway had been closed last night between Haviland and Wawa from 7:40 p.m. to 9:50 this morning due to snow and blowing snow
