Saultite stopped in Brant found with $20,000 in drugs say police

Police found suspected Percocet pills, purple and white fentanyl, as well as crystal meth in man's car

COUNTY OF BRANT - A member of the County of Brant Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol on 17 September 2019, at approximately 11:20 a.m., stopped a vehicle on Highway 403 eastbound near Paris Road for a violation.

During the stop, the officer was alerted and an investigation was started. During the course of the investigation, the officer located a quantity of what is believed to be approximately 2,000 Percocet pills, purple and white fentanyl and crystal meth all together valued at over $20,000

Police have arrested and charged Hal Clayton, 46 years old, of Sault Ste. Marie,

Ontario with the following offences:

  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substances act x2
  • Possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to Section 5(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substances act
  • Possession of property obtained by crime contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada x2

The accused will appear in Brantford Court at a later date to answer to the charges.
