A teenage prank early this morning resulted in the two young offenders being tracked down by the O.P.P. K-9 Unit.

At about 2:00 a.m. today, a woman heard an unusual noise outside her house. When she looked outside she could see that tools and equipment that were left outside were gone. It was the homeowners impression that someone not known to her was trying to enter her home.

When O.P.P. officers arrived on the scene they saw two people running away. The police dog was called and tracked the two culprits down in the area.

Two sixteen and seventeen-year-old males have been charged with drinking under age contrary to the Liquor Licence Act and with Trespassing.


BODY DISCOVERED IN SUBMERGED VEHICLE
Kirkland Lake, Ont.

Officers from the Kirkland Lake O.P.P. detachment received information that an abandoned vehicle had been located submerged in Bear Lake. It appeared that the vehicle, located near a parkette on Hwy 66, approximately five kilometers west of Virginiatown, had been in the water for some time.

On Thursday, May 8, the O.P.P. Underwater Search and Recovery Unit from Gravenhurst, was called in to assist in the removal of the vehicle. When it was removed and checked, the body of a male was discovered inside.

Identification of the body and cause of death have not been determined.

The body has been removed and transported to the Pathological Sciences Building, Office of the Chief Coroner in Toronto, for examination.

Officers from Kirkland Lake detachment are continuing the investigation under the direction of Detective Inspector Scott Tod of the Criminal Investigation Branch.
