(St. Joseph’s Island, Ont.) East Algoma O.P.P. continued their search for a 35-year-old man who disappeared while trying to retrieve his boat on Friday 22 July 2005.

The search continued with the assistance of two Marine units and the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) divers.

The area where the incident happened is located near a sand bar on Lake Huron that drops off into approximately 21 feet (7 meters) of water.

At approximately 4:40 p.m. the body was recovered near the area where he was last seen. Dead is 35 year old Rob SWANTON of Staynor, Ontario. There was no sign of foul play.

MAJOR DAMAGE DONE TO HOUSE DURING BREAK AND ENTER

(French River, Ont.) On Friday, 08th July 2005, members of the Noelville OPP Detachment received a complaint of a break and enter to a residence on Mayer Road, in the Municipality of French River.
Police attended and found the house to be ransacked with major damage and graffiti spray painted all over the inside. Several sheds outside had some walls spray painted with graffiti. The inside of the house also sustained major water damage due to water taps being turned on and left on.
Ontario Hydro was notified and attended to turn off the hydro.
North East Region Identification Unit also attended to examine the scene.
Noelville OPP and the Noelville OPP Crime Unit are investigating.
