Drug Charges

Drugs and stolen property recovered On [Friday] January 28 OPP assisted by the Sault Ste. Marie Joint Forces Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at a residence at 821 Highway 552 East in Goulais River. Marijuana plants valued at $3,500, street value, were seized as well as stolen property recovered.

Paul William Edwards, 24, of Goulais River, is charged with one count of possession of marijuana and one count of cultivation of marijuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act in addition to two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000 and one count of breach of recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code. Edwards is currently in custody, awaiting bail on other matters and will be in bail court in Sault Ste. Marie on January 31.
