ACCIDENT SENDS ONE TO HOSPITAL A snowmobile accident sent the O.P.P., Goulais First Response and Sault Area Ambulance to a snowmobile trail in Haviland Township. Police say the snowmobile hit a rut threw both riders off.

A snowmobile accident sent the O.P.P., Goulais First Response and Sault Area Ambulance to a snowmobile trail in Haviland Township. Police say the snowmobile hit a rut threw both riders off.

Stephen Giazebrook, age 46 of 31 Haviland Drive, was treated for minor injuries at the Sault Area Hospital. The operator, 45-year-old Joseph Nault of Monette Road in Goulais River, was not injured. He was charged with failing to provide proof on insurance and failure to display a permit.

R.I.D.E. CHECKS
The Sault O.P.P. conducted festive RIDE checks overnight in Laird Township resulting in one 12-hour suspension and one charge of consuming alcohol in a vehicle. Twenty-two vehicles were checked.
