Sault Ste Marie OPP is investigating a report of damage to logging equipment near Beaumont Trailer Park in Heyden.

The owner of the equipment arrived on Friday to see a group of young teenagers running away from the scene. The youths had taken a fire extinguisher from some of the equipment and discharged its contents on the site. The owner also advised the police of other damage to an excavator and a truck.

The owner of the equipment has extended an opportunity to the youths to make restitution for the damage or face charges. The amount of the damage is in the hundreds of dollars range.


BARRIE MAN CHARGED FOR DRINKING IN HIS BOAT

The Sault Ste. Marie Marine Unit charged a Barrie Ontario man with drinking in his boat.

The marine unit was on patrol on the Goulais River yesterday when they found the 22-year-old Barrie resident with open liquor in his boat. Michael Burke of Barrie Ontario was given a $190.00 ticket for his actions.
