OPP seize suspected crystal meth, purple heroin, arrest Sault woman in Blind River

BLIND RIVER - On Feb. 10, 2020, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were investigating an unwanted persons complaint on North Street in the Town of Blind River. The suspects had left in a white pickup.

Shortly after 10:00 p.m., police observed the white pickup parked in a parking lot along Causley Street. Police approached the vehicle and spoke with the two occupants in the pickup. During the interaction the officer observed drug paraphernalia with suspected schedule I substance on the centre console. 

Both occupants were arrested and the vehicle searched. Police located suspected crystal meth and suspected purple heroin.

As a result of the investigation, Jason Guy, 35 years of age from Blind River, Ontario was charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance - heroin (x2), contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA);
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA; and with:
  • Failure to comply with release order - other than attend court, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste Marie on Feb. 19, 2020.

Amanda LeClair 34 years of age from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario was charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance - heroin (x2), contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA); and with
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on March 26, 2020.
