OPP investigates 11 domestic incidents in February

Sault Ste. Marie OPP investigated various domestic-related incidents in February and two reported incidents led to charges.

Following is a release from the OPP with further details:

The Sault Ste Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 11 domestic related incidents in the month of February 2022, two (2) of which resulted in someone being charged with a criminal offence.

Some of the charges include:

  • Assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault cause bodily harm
  • Mischief
  • Utter threats
  • Fail to comply with undertaking
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of weapon dangerous
  • Unauthorized possession of prohibited or restricted weapon

The OPP will not release names in order to protect the identity of the victims.
